We wrote an article a while back about How to Clean Vitamix Container Properly. Following that article, we found a lot of questions about how to clean the Ninja Blender Base. In this article, we will be providing answers to that question and leaving you with all the tips you need to get the job done properly and safely.
How to Clean Ninja Blender Base
The base of your Ninja Blender, or any other blender for that matter, is part of the blender that houses all its electrical components. As such, it is the one part of the blender you want to avoid getting water into. That being said, this part of the blender still needs to be cleaned like every other part of the blender.
To clean your Ninja Blender base, you will need the following items:
- A clean cloth
- A brush or sponge
- Clean water
- Soap
Below is an easy 5-step process for cleaning the base of your Ninja Blender or any other blender:
Step 1 – Unplug the Blender
You want to always unplug your blender before you start working on it. This is the first step to take when cleaning any blender’s motor base. If the blender in question is a wireless blender like the NutriBullet Go Wireless Blender, make sure the blender is turned off before you start cleaning it.
Step 2 – Detach the Pitcher
Next, you want to detach the pitcher from the base. You do not want to get dirt from the blender base to the pitcher, especially if the pitcher is already clean. You also want to clean the top of the base which is where the pitcher gets attached. It is impossible to do that with the pitcher still on.
Step 3 – Start from the Top of the Base
This is where the cleaning starts. We recommend you always start cleaning your blender base from the top part; where the pitcher is attached to the base. This is often the dirtiest part of the blender base, it is also the toughest part to clean.
Make some soap solution from the soap and water you have ready. Dipe your clean cloth into it and use it to clean the top of the base. Make sure to get the areas around the gear part which attach to the pitcher base and blender blades.
If you own a blender like the Ninja Blender BL700 Mega Kitchen System, you might find using a brush easier for cleaning this part of the blender.
Step 4 – Clean the Rest of the Base
After cleaning the top part, wipe down the rest of the blender with your cloth and soap solution. Be extra careful with the parts of the base where the controls are located as you don’t want to get liquids in there.
If you encounter any tough stains, swap the cloth out for your sponge or brush, and that should take care of it.
Step 5 – Wipe Down With a Clean Damp Cloth and then Dry
Dip a clean cloth into clean water and wipe the entire base down to get rid of the soap. Once that is done, dry the base off with a dry portion of the cleaning cloth, or simply leave it to sit for a while and dry up naturally.
Tips for cleaning ninja blender base
Cleaning your ninja blender base is key to prolonging its lifespan. Below are a few tips that will make your cleaning methods a lot more effective;
- Avoid using harsh chemicals on your blender base: It’s crucial to avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or any other harsh chemicals. This could damage the blender base over time. Mild cleaning agents are your best bet.
- Avoid the use of too much water: You want to use as little water as possible for cleaning your blender base since you do not want water getting into it. That could cause everything from a damaged blender to an electrical hazard.
- Dry your blender base thoroughly: Make sure the base is thoroughly dried before reassembling the blender to prevent mold or mildew growth.
- Use a damp cloth: Use a damp cloth rather than soaking the base in water to prevent water damage to the controls. You should NEVER put your Ninja Blender base into a dishwasher.
- Refer to the manual: Whenever your blender base falls into faults, refer to the user manual for specific cleaning instructions and recommendations for your model Ninja blender. It’s much better than DIY-ing things.
How often should I clean my ninja blender base?
We recommend that you clean your Ninja blender base after each use. This helps prevent food residue and stains from building up and ensures the base remains hygienic and in good condition. Cleaning after each use also makes it easier to remove any food particles that may have become stuck to the base, helping to extend the lifespan of the blender.
If the blender is not used frequently, it’s still a good idea to clean it periodically to prevent build-up and maintain its performance and appearance.
